- Biography:
Mauro Beggio was born in 1970 and began studying drums when he was thirteen by attending the "Dizzy Gillespie School" in Bassano del Grappa (VI), Italy.
In 1986, during the stage "Siena Jazz", he met Enrico Rava and began to perform with him since January 1987 taking part to major Italian and foreign jazz festivals and many radio programs.
Since the beginning of his profession Mauro Beggio had a chance to perform both with fixed line-ups (Enrico Rava Quartet, Enrico Pieranunzi Trio, Claudio Fasoli Quartet, Gibellini-Tavolazzi-Beggio Trio and Lydian Sound Orchestra the first years and from 2002) and as freelance drummer with Italian musicians such as Franco D'Andrea, Stefano Bollani, Guido Manusardi, Massimo Urbani, and foreign artists such as Johnny Griffin, Toots Thielemans, Palle Danielsson, Kenny Wheeler, Franco Ambrosetti, Paul Bley (CD "One Year After).
